My passion for creating engaging learning materials has led me to the world of instructional design - the perfect blend of innovation, education, technology and creativity.
During my seven years of teaching, I created CAPS-aligned materials to use in the classroom. Ranging from instructional worksheets to games and activities, these materials covered a variety of subjects from English to the sciences. They were designed to maximize engagement and aid in the clear and logical presentation of information to learners.
With a Bachelor's Degree in Film Studies and a position as a freelance assistant video editor for a project run by Moonlighting Commercials, I have worked in variety of video editing programs, from the industry standards of Adobe Premier Pro and Sony Vegas, to a collection of free mobile apps.
While my focus shifted towards teaching and education, I have kept my editing skills honed through the creation of videos for all the various projects I have been involved in - including school events, Isa Mother City Rollers classes and events, and Roller Sport South Africa events.
During my time as a classroom teacher, and particularly while taking on the role of Head of Grade, I created information media to be sent to parents. This included Term Newsletters and information pages about upcoming events. This skills has grown since becoming the chairperson of Isa Mother City Rollers, where I now create a monthly newsletter for the club community.
