My journey has been anything but ordinary! I started with a BA in English Literature and Film Studies, exploring creativity and communication before packing my bags and heading off to Japan for three years. Living and working there was an adventure filled with learning, perspective-shifting growth, and of course delicious food.
Wanting to study to become a teacher, I returned to South Africa and, after graduating, had seven eventful (and occasionally chaotic) years teaching in two primary schools in Cape Town. I loved the magic of engaging young minds, designing creative learning experiences, and navigating the occasional friendship drama that required mediation.
Now, I’m taking everything I’ve learned - teaching, tech, and creativity - and stepping into the world of instructional design. My goal? To craft engaging, meaningful learning experiences that make education more accessible and exciting, whether in classrooms, corporate spaces, or beyond.
I love to roller skate! If there’s a pair of wheels under my feet, I’m happy. Whether I’m coaching new skaters, practicing my own moves, or just cruising around for fun, roller skating is my way of combining movement, creativity, and a little bit of style.
It has also led to fun experiences. I have skated in the main parade of the Cape Town Carnival as part of Isa Mother City Rollers; I have travelled to Italy with the South African National Speed and Artistic Teams as an assistant team manager; I volunteer on the board of the national federation, Roller Sport South Africa; and I have appeared in various media articles.
I have also gone on my fair share of adventures. From recently summiting Cathedral Peak in the Drakensberg, to multi-day cycle trips and outdoor climbing weekends, I have stories to tell and experiences to draw inspiration from.
